Support for parents In line with our company philosophy to support families, we offer comprehensive return-to-work benefits for those returning from parental leave, including flexible working options (e.g. work four days a week paid five for a 12-week period) and additional financial support. 
 
Volunteering & giving back   
One way we support communities is through our paid volunteer day. Many of us are actively involved in sports clubs, schools, local community groups, charities, and environmental causes. The Downer Delights initiative encourages employees to nominate a cause they care about. In 2021, we gave back $50,000 to 30 charities across Aotearoa New Zealand.
